Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! My schedule is available by clicking on the Schedule link in the left column. The syllabus for the 7th grade Advanced Math course can be found by clicking on the link below.

7th Grade Advanced Math
The advanced math class is a rigorous course that dives deep into the 7th grade math standards. Many of the standards cover topics not previously taught, so students should spend time outside of class reviewing material covered in class.

Students should be checking google classroom daily for copies of notes from class, important dates (for assessments, due dates for assignments, etc.) and additional resources such as powerpoints, videos, etc. that can provide review and additional support with the concepts covered in class. Optional practice opportunities for standards being covered can also be found in google classroom. Students should also be checking their school email through Classlink and their grades in the portal several times a week.

Parents (and students) are encouraged to subscribe to the 7th Grade Advanced Math Google calendar in order to see tentative lesson plans for each day, homework assignments, upcoming assessment dates, etc. The link is provided under the tab in the left column of this page.

The best way to reach me is by email at [email protected]. I check email multiple times a day between 7AM-3PM and will respond within 24 hours of a regular school day. Communication with parents is done through the daily google calendar post (see first link in the left column) and via email (with email address on file in infinite campus) or a phone call when direct contact is needed.  Infinite campus will be updated within 5 days of due dates for graded assignments.

*REASSESSMENT POLICY: FOR SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENTS ONLY
Students who score below a 90 on the original summative assessment may request a learning contract form from the teacher (a copy of the generic form is on the google classroom stream) and copies are available in class on the day summative assessments are returned to students. Deadlines to complete each part of the learning contract process will be written on the copy available in class. Deadlines will also be written on the board and posted in google classroom and on the google calendar. Students will have to complete corrections on a separate sheet of paper for every problem missed. They must show their work to prove how to get the correct answer. Students will then meet with the teacher to review and receive reteaching where needed. Students will not be granted the opportunity to reassess if they do not meet all requirements on the learning contract form by the deadline given.
