Riverside Middle School Clubs

Art Club
Sponsor: Mary Beth Garrett & Melissa Jenkinson
 
Purpose: Are you interested in weaving, paper crafts, painting, drawing, and ceramics? Apply for Arts & Crafts Club, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet new people and spend time with other students at RMS who love making art! We will rotate through different mediums and projects throughout the year. Students must fill out an application to be considered for Arts & Crafts Club.
 
Membership Information: Club dues are $30 for the year and go toward project supplies and other club activities.
 
Meeting Times: Twice per month  on Wednesdays from 2:30 -3:45.

Cross Country
Sponsor: Belinda Flanders 
 
Purpose:  Students will participate in local cross country races; running a 5k (3..1 miles) each race. Students will build endurance and strength during weekly practices.

CyberPatriot
Sponsor: Tim Jenkins
 
Purpose:  Students participate in a series of capture the flag events playing the role of a network administrator.
 
Membership Information: $45 covers the registration fee to Cyber Patriot and includes a t-shirt and other swag.
 
Meeting Times: Mostly first semester. Sessions are held during the school day.

Drama Club
Sponsor: Erin Dibling & Michelle Delgado
 
Purpose:  Students will put on two productions each semester: December 7 and April 25.  Students will audition for the speaking roles.  There are also opportunities for those students who desire to work on the backstage crew.
 
Membership Information: $45 dues each semester.  Dues include a show shirt as well as licensing fees and backdrops, props and costumes
 
Meeting Times: Monday and Wednesday from 2:30 - 4:00 pm.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
Sponsor: Lisa Ballard, Brittany Wilkerson, Belinda  Flanders, & Terri Gibbs
 
Purpose:  FCA is a student-led club, organized by a Student Leadership Team (SLT). Athletes must apply to be considered for the SLT.. FCA is a community working to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. We desire to see every coach and athlete enter into a growing relationship with Christ and His Church. We seek to make disciples through our strategy of engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches and athletes to grow in Christ and lead others to do the same. Involvement in athletics is not required to join FCA.
 
Membership Information: Club dues of $20 payable on RevTrak go towards club activities, prizes, and includes a club t-shirt.
 
Meeting Times: Twice monthly in Learning Commons: 1st Friday morning 7:00-7:25 AM & 3rd Friday afternoon 2:30-3:15 PM. FCA Student Leadership Team meets weekly on Wednesday mornings from 7:00-7:25 AM to plan huddle meetings. Recruitment crew meets 2nd and 4th Wednesday afternoons from 2:30-3:00 PM.

Junior Model United Nations (JMUN)
Sponsor: Jayne Andrews & Joshua Adee
 
Purpose:  JMUN is a junior version of Model United Nations. It is designed for Middle School students.
The purpose of JMUN is to improve student’s writing and speaking skills, to equip students with useful skills to discuss world issues on peace, civil war, hunger, economic issues etc., and to prepare students as future delegates at the JMUN conference at Augusta University.
 
Membership Information: Club dues are $60 payable on RevTrak.  The dues pay for the conference in March.
 
Meeting Times: Meetings will begin in September and will be Wednesday after school.

Yearbook
Sponsor: Belinda Flanders
 
Purpose:  Yearbook will teach you skills in business, graphic design, visual communication, writing, photography and collaborative relationships.  Students will have to work remotely while working towards specific deadlines.

Meeting Times:  First Thursday of every month.
