Dear Parents,
In order to keep you informed, we are notifying you regarding changes that will go into effect at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, following the enactment of House Bill 340, the Distraction-Free Education Act, and additional updates to the student code of conduct. These changes will restrict students’ use of electronic devices and limits access to the school’s wireless network during instructional hours.
Effective July 1, 2025, students will not be permitted to use or display their personal electronic devices during the school day. All devices must be stored in a backpack or locker and must not be carried on a student’s person. Additionally, all device ringers, alerts, and alarms should be turned off.
Prohibited electronic devices include, but are not limited to, the following: cellphones, tablets, headphones and earbuds, smart glasses, smart watches, or any similar personal devices.
If students need to call their parents, they should report to the main office to use the school phone. Likewise, if parents need to reach students with messages or emergencies, they should call the main office.
More information will be provided at the beginning of the school year to ensure that students and parents are fully informed of expectations.
We thank our families and community for their ongoing support, and we hope you can join us in our endeavors to continue fostering a positive, productive school environment.
