Class overview

The ASD classroom consist of a functional academic curriculum. The functional academic curriculum, teaches academics with life skills. This includes mathematics activities on adding money, understanding concepts such as more and less or calculating a grocery bill, along with literacy lessons on reading basics. We focus on the five domains which are embeded into students Individualized Education Plan. These are the domains we work on daily; Cognitive Skills, Adaptive Skills, Motor Skills (Gross and Fine), Social/Emotional/Behavioral Skills and Communication Skills. Students are also exposed to the general education standards as much as possible with customized instruction.
